Edo State Colleges of Agriculture (Iguoriakhi) and Agricultural Technology (Agenebode) had by restructuring metamorphosed to one unique College of Agriculture and Natural Resources with expanded, widened and deepened scope of academic, training, research and integrated extension services. The new College has three schools, namely:

1. School of Agricultural Technology and Engineering at Iguoriakhi which doubles as the main campus and administrative headquarters of the College.

2. School of Forestry and Environmental Technology being located at Uromi.

3. School of Aquaculture and Marine Technology being located at Agenebode.

Our Vision

The Vision of the College is to proactively serve as avenue for the production of skilled manpower for sustainable agricultural development, food and environmental security for Edo State in particular and Nigeria in general.
  • Mission
  • To produce graduates that are adequately equipped with the comprehensive theoretical knowledge, practical and entrepreneurial skills required for engaging in productive and economic agricultural production.
  • To produce graduates geared towards self-employment.
  • To Produce graduates with sufficient technical, productive and entrepreneurship skills who will be involved in production, research and entrepreneurship in any aspect of agriculture and other related disciplines.
  • To produce graduates that are relevant to themselves, the industry and society and who can contribute effectively to national development goals in Agriculture.
  • MANDATE OF THE COLLEGE
  • To create posts and offices tenable at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and to make appointments thereunto;
  • To prescribe the academic requirements for new entrants from time to time;
  • To offer admission to prospective candidates from within and outside the State;
  • To institute and award scholarships, bursaries, medals, prizes and other titles, distinctions, awards and forms of assistance;
  • To provide for the residence, discipline and welfare of members of staff and the students of the College.
  • To hold examinations and award diplomas, certificates and other distinctions to persons who have pursued a course of study approved by the College and have satisfied such other requirements as the College may lay down;
  • To charge and receive from any student or any other person attending the College for the purpose of receiving instructions such fees as the College may from time to time determine;
  • Subject to the approval of the appropriate authority, to dispose of any of its movable and immovable property ;
  • To accept gifts, legacies and donations, but without the obligation to accept the same for a particular purpose unless it approves the terms and conditions attaching thereto;
  • To enter into contracts, establish trusts, act as trustee, solely or jointly with any other persons and employ and act through agents;
  • To erect, provide, equip and maintain libraries, laboratories, lecture halls, halls of residence, refectories, sports grounds, playing fields and other buildings or things necessary or suitable to or convenient for any of its functions;
  • To engage in all academic and research activities, including research project, lectures, symposia and the publication of academic literature such as books and journals;
  • To invest, subject to the approval from appropriate authority, any money appertaining to the College by way of endowment, whether for general or specific purposes, and such other monies as may not immediately be required for current expenditure, in investments or securities or in the purchase or improvement of land, with power from time to time to vary any such investment and to deposit money for the time being invested with a bank in deposit or current account;
  • To borrow, whether at interest or not and if need be, upon the security of any of the property, movable or immovable of the College, such money as the Governing Council may from time to time find necessary or expedient to borrow, subject to the approval of the appropriate authority;
  • To do anything which it is authorized or required by the Law to do;
  • To do such things incidental to the foregoing powers as may advance the objectives of the College.

VOCATIONAL ENTERPRISE PROGRAMME (VEP)

The programme is to offer competency based-skill in agriculture with emphasis on professional education and training at post-basic and post-secondary levels to equip the youths as well as working adults with vocational skills and knowledge to meet the increasing demand for skilled manpower in the nation’s agricultural sector.

The College has six Departments, teaching and research farm, and vocational enterprise program

The College has a total number of 177 staff performing various schedules in the six Departments.
